Same Girl Different City (Welcome to Jamrock)

Hiya Peeps

I have had so many e-mails from y'all wondering where the heck I've been; and the short answer is on my annual holiday; this year I went to Jamaica. Which happens to be where my family hail from. Yes it's true I am a Yardie.lol

I can only say that this year’s holiday was only matched by the quality of the the Rum (amazing).  Its nuts to be in the same place that generations of your family have were born.  Every- thing felt vaguely familiar and somewhat like home. Now I have been to Jamaica many times but only twice as an adult and the freedom of adulthood definitely increases the enjoyment factor. However, there were some things that took some time to get used to...
  • The heat had me sweating like I stole sumthin’ (very hard to look chic when you are sweating buckets)
  • The showers are cold. (no, its not refreshing)
  • Driving conditions were scary
  • The mosquitoes ate me alive I only survived because I had a Aloe Vera connect
  •  My hair was like straw ya'll but I rocked a bun most of the time and kept it moving.
  •
    Me and J
I did nothing else with my hair that was particularly interesting although I did rock my l'il straw hat sometimes when I was looking just too crazy to go outside. I stuck to the healthy hair regime as much as travel allowed.  On the flipside...
·         The food was delicious
·         The night life was fun
·         The people were darling (shout out to Marc and the crew)
·         My bestie J was the ideal holiday companion

So overall Jamaica gets two thumbs up

  1. You look fabulous! I wonder if a glycerin/water combo would have combatted the humidity. Glad you enjoyed "going home" Jamaica is such a lovely place.
